What I liked

Shivam emphasized the importance of the intern's experience and the essential skills that I was looking to pick up during my time with Change for Change. There was great flexibility and a strong communication line between everyone on the team. I really appreciated the supportive and educational work environment.

What I wish was different

I would have liked to have more of a rigid work schedule to better prepare me for in-person workplace lifestyles.

Advice

I highly recommend making the most of the opportunity and seeking new tasks or problems to solve to maximize the learning you can take away from the internship.

What I liked

Working with the team at Change for Change has been eye opening. It is a group of passionate individuals looking to truly make a difference in the world with software. Everyone is kind and smart and I cannot recommend this company enough. The best part is the small size and early stage of the company which allows me to gain broad exposure to business processes that I otherwise would not have had.

What I wish was different

Given that the team is spread out geographically working remote, it was difficult to form relationships at first. But the team does a great job getting everyone involved and connected, despite being remote.

Advice

Early stage startups are very different from large corporations. If you want to grow quickly and learn what you are good at and enjoy, joining an early stage startup is the best decision you could make.

Social & Digital Media Marketing Internship

What I liked

Being able to work closely with Shivam, the founder, was one of the most impactful parts of the internship because of all the knowledge he has with building a startup. I was able to learn important and essential skills during my time with Changeforchange in marketing strategies for both the social media and the business side.

What I wish was different

Although it is tough due to COVID, I would have liked if the internship was in person because I believe it would have been more beneficial to prepare myself for future jobs.

Advice

I would highly recommend taking full advantage of the opportunity to work closely with Shivam and keep yourself busy with new tasks. Absorbing all the knowledge and information you can from the company and Shivam was one of my favorite parts of the internship.
