This position was marketed as a quantitative one, but I never needed complex statistical software packages. I relied heavily on excel, and effective navigation of this program is both widely understood to be important, but I think many fail to see the high-level to which it can be used. Developing advanced excel abilities is a key for applicants looking at both this, and other similar positions.
