The Center for Health Equity Transformation’s mission is to lift health for all by exposing root causes of health inequities and serving as a hub that pushes boundaries in research, education, workforce development, and community engagement.
Our vision is to bridge the gaps between research, community needs, and policy by transforming systems and structures so that everyone has the opportunity to achieve their best possible health.
At the Center for Health Equity Transformation (CHET), we believe health touches all sectors of society and health is inextricably linked to important domains such as education, housing, employment, economic resilience of a household and family and geographical location. Health impacts the overall ability of a human to thrive in society.
CHET was co-founded by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine's Institute for Public Health and Medicine and Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University. Dr. Melissa Simon is the director of the Center for Health Equity Transformation.
