The Center for a Secure a Secure Free Society (SFS) is a global, next-generation, national security think tank advancing freedom and security worldwide. At SFS, we believe that building a global narrative supporting U.S. national security interests—while
promoting the principles of a free society—is key to achieving global peace and prosperity. This narrative is developed through a global network of security scholars and practitioners with long-standing relationships to SFS.
The SFS global network transcends borders, governments, and politics. It is made up of a diverse group of national security leaders at home and abroad, unified by a core belief in the principles of free society. These leaders, our International Fellows, engage in cutting-edge research and provide critical analyses to help shape national security policy by providing U.S. policymakers with on-the-ground, bottom-up perspectives of the emerging threats in their respective countries and regions. SFS began as an effort bridging the field of economics to national security. We have since developed into an independent think tank producing groundbreaking research and analysis on issues that the broader foreign policy and national security community neglects. SFS’s work receives significant media exposure, in both English and Spanish, and has been praised by the U.S. Department of Defense and Congress. By investing in global efforts with a national security impact and engaging the best minds we can find
on these issues—we invest in the future of freedom.
