The events organized by the coordinator were great way to interact with fellow interns and employees.

Forensic Accounting Intern
April - August 2021 • San Diego, CA
What I liked
The people I worked with were fun and intelligent. They care about you and treat you like one of them even though you're an intern.
What I wish was different
I wish I had a supervisor that I could check in with from time to time to talk about my progress in the assignments that i am doing instead of just a survey. There is a survey every 20 days or so but no one really got back to me even when I requested to be contacted.
Advice
In this internship you would learn a lot about tools used in the business world like excel and other software. It was a good learning experience.

Tax Intern
January - April 2020 • Atlanta, GA
What I liked
The ongoing experience I received at CBIZ enhanced my accounting knowledge every day. CBIZ company culture creates a learning experience on multiple levels. In house learning and also company module learning series provides the ultimate for accounting majors either in school or for continued CPA certification requirements. A helpful employee atmosphere inspired and nurtured my learning internship.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to receive school credit for this internship but was to late to receive it after the hiring process was completed. The experience I gained at CBIZ was immense however, I wish I could have done more but was prevented due to authority clearances.
Advice
Be prepared to learn fast.

Assurance Intern
July - August 2020 • Boston, MA
What I liked
I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and network with so many people. I also liked the numerous opportunities I had to apply what I had learned in my classes at Assumption to real-world scenarios. The internship was more than just client work, I really enjoyed the professional development and skills training we had. I am grateful to be able to take so many new skills into my future career in public accounting.
What I wish was different
I wish we could have been in person, but of course, that was beyond my control. However, because the internship program was entirely virtual, all of the interns around the country were on one meeting call together. This gave me the opportunity to meet and network with so many more people than I would have if the internship was in person. I was extremely grateful to meet so many students my age from around the country.
Advice
Be flexible. If there is one thing I have learned in 2020 is that things can change at the drop of a hat. Always be open to new situations and don't get down on yourself if things don't work out. The ability to adapt to unforeseen changes is extremely valuable.
