Through this opportunity, I got to experience what it is like to work in a hospital setting. I learned how to manage my time between multiple patients and practice important skills like taking vital signs and CBGs. I also gained experience therapeutically communicating with patients and working with other members of the health care team.
What I wish was different
I wish I had started this job a year earlier when I originally became licensed as a nursing assistant.
Advice
I think all students pursuing nursing should work as an LNA because it helps build your skills and better prepares you to be a great nurse.
