I grew up at this camp, so I have rose-tinted glasses. But I like so much about this camp -- the counselor community is great, the inclusion program is great, there are a lot of amazing people that you work with and spend your days hanging out with. The community is super positive and energetic, if a little overwhelming. The job is hard and takes a lot out of you but it's so rewarding and fun if it's right for you.
What I wish was different
The camp leadership has been sub-par the past few years, but a lot of them left recently so hopefully their replacements are better. The food is also not great.
Advice
You have to kinda buy in all the way. You can't half ass this job, and you can't do it well if you don't care. If you get into it and engage with the camp community though, it's such a fun experience.

What I liked
I got the experience of managing a group of staff and got to return to the camp I grew up at.
What I wish was different
Honestly, the way this role panned out for me at camp could not have been much better.
Advice
Always ask for help if and when you need it. Never be afraid to seek out assistance.
