What I liked

I have always been interested in healthcare so this was a great way to get my foot in the door. I had hands on experience with analyzing health data, researching vendors, and women's health. It was also great to get a feel for what it is like to work in a corporate environment. It really challenged me and I learned a lot more than I thought I would. Also, the other interns were amazing and we all became good friends.

What I wish was different

My boss was really hard to work with. However, she gave me very blunt feedback that was hard to take, but I ended up learning more this way. I also wish there was more to do. Some weeks were very busy and others I had no work.

Advice

Getting an internship will really help you understand what it is like to work in a professional setting. It is the complete opposite of school, which many of us are most familiar with. Learn while you are still a student so you know what you are doing when you are working in the field.

I only wish I had more interns working with me in the Lehigh Valley.

Advice

I would tell someone to definitely take the opportunity. It was rewarding in every way possible and it showed a valuable insight into the US healthcare system from the perspective of insurance.
