Research Assistant

What I liked

The Supervisor -- Dr. Terrence Bisson. This was Mathematics Research offered through the CEEP Grant available under Academic Affairs. Dr. Bisson was the only professor interested in carrying out research during the summer, so I went to him with my proposal, and he tweaked it, and we had a great rewarding experience.

What I wish was different

The hours we were allocated. Not enough.

Advice

Whatever area you study, or whatever your major may be, I strongly advise you to do some research at least once in your 4 years. Not only do you get a deeper understanding of the concepts, you get to spend quality (and paid!) one-on-one time with a professor, which you don't get after paying thousands of dollars to sit in a 30-person classroom!
