Overnight Camp Counselor
May - August 2019 • Estes Park, CO
What I liked
I love being able to minister to campers of all ages & from all sorts of backgrounds. It is truly a special time to learn practical skills regarding leadership, relationships, and teamwork, while also deepening one's walk with the Lord.
What I wish was different
Nothing! I will gladly be returning to Camp Timberline this summer.
Advice
I would encourage all college students to spend one summer counseling. It is such a rewarding time to develop leadership skills through serving others.

Camp Counselor Intern
May - August 2019 • Estes Park, CO
What I liked
I loved this job and the people I got to spend my summer with. I really enjoyed being a counselor and spending time with my campers and co-counselors. I personally grew in a lot of different aspects of my life during my time at camp and I got to strengthen my leadership skills as well.
What I wish was different
I wish some of the activities were run more smoothly at camp, but that can also be very difficult when trying to coordinate events for a large group of children.
Advice
If anyone is on the fence about going to spend a summer at a summer camp, I highly encourage them to do so. It can be scary going into an unfamiliar place with a bunch of new people but I had an incredible experience working at camp and I met some of my very best friends there.

Photographer
May - July 2018 • Estes Park, CO
What I liked
Working as a photographer at Camp Timberline was essentially the dream job. I got to live and work 9400 feet above sea level in the Rocky Mountains and interact with some of the most kind and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The photography job allowed me to have so much freedom while roaming all over the property and capturing pictures of children engaged in adventure and elk who wandered into camp. The love of Christ is so prevalent at Camp Timberline because everyone who walks through the front gate is fully known and fully loved.
What I wish was different
I wish I had gotten to stay a full summer instead of just first term. But, that is why I am going back!
Advice
Have an open mind. Don't be afraid to be yourself and be vulnerable with the other people on staff.
