What I liked

All the staff were super supportive, and the campers were usually fantastic! Although the pay is low(camp counselor positions start at $38/day), room and board is included, so it's perfect for anyone looking for a place to live in the summers between school.

What I wish was different

Advice

Take care of yourself! It's really hard to live where you work, and it's important to listen to yourself and take care of your needs.

The ability to develop leadership+supervising skills in a lower pressure environment.

More open communication from the team.

Advice

Ensure that your relationships with other staff in different units/specialties stays as professional as possible. Many other staff felt that since I was not exactly in the same supervisor position as their supervisors, they would discuss inappropriate things around a supervisor (me).
