Camp Counselor

What I liked

I loved being a role model for my cabin of 11 year old girls. It was the best summer of my life! I was able to be their teacher, their older sister, their friend, and learned so much about taking care of children along with learning so many things about myself and gaining confidence.

What I wish was different

I never was a counselor before so I didn't know what to expect. I wish I asked people who have been counselors before what it was like. However, I learned so much about being a camp counselor in just two months.

Advice

If you're nervous about starting something new: a new job, a new school, etc., you should go for it. Get out of your comfort zone and be vulnerable with new experiences. I am so grateful that I did because I am a different person because of my summer.
