Laboratory Technician

What I liked
I enjoyed the teaching nature of the internship. I felt like they appreciated my help and at the same time, took ample opportunity to teach me new things in the field of astrophysics. They did not hesitate to answer any and all questions I posed and implemented designs that I made.
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to do more analysis work, since the job was mostly getting components integrated into an assembly and testing optics. However, I understand that was going to be limited when I took the job.
Advice
Don't be afraid to go around meet people, everyone is friendly and loves to discuss their and your own work. And definitely take the time to enjoy the campus, it has some very beautiful buildings and fountains.

I wish I had spent a little more time researching labs that I would join and work in all summer.

Go for it, the experience is a great one regardless of circumstance, I made great lifelong friends and it solidified future career plan directions.
