Communications Intern
July 2018 • Fontana, CA
What I liked
Everything! CSI makes you feel like family and they teach you all the tools you would need to succeed within the Communications realm. I have utilized many of the skills that I had going into this internship and learned plenty of new ones along the way. They really care about their employees. They stress health and wellness company-wide; there is a gym, health center, and cafeteria onsite. Even though this is an internship, I have felt like a CSI employee from the very beginning.
What I wish was different
Nothing.
Advice
Learn to adapt and be a sponge. Sometimes you have limited tools available to you so you'll need to learn to adapt to the work environment and come up with new ways of completing tasks. There's plenty to learn with a company as large as CSI so going out into the mills and talking to people about the production process there is crucial to succeeding. The more you network, the more you will get out of the experience.

What I liked
Great and fun work environment, the work I do actually matters and I get to see it used on day to day basis, and the proximity of the my place of work to where I live.
What I wish was different
Nothing, everything so far has been great.
Advice
I did not think I would have gotten the opportunity since I had noticed the job posting a 2 weeks after it was posted on my chat group, but I still got it even with how late I noticed. Also I did not know anything at all about the languages I would be using but that did not matter since I am here more to learn than to "wow" everyone with anything that I do know.
