I really liked how I was able to connect with new students (freshmen and transfers) by helping them get connected to campus. In doing so I was able to make connections, befriend great people (aka my coworkers), and get involved on campus (which is something I didn’t do my first year here).
What I wish was different
I wish I was able to meet my mentees sooner in the academic year so I could’ve helped them sooner especially since I know the first few days as a college student can be very challenging when you don’t know the campus/don’t know people.
Advice
Always try to get out of your comfort zone because you’ll never know what great things or people you’ll come across!
