It was the most fun job ever. I love teaching art to middle schoolers.
What I wish was different
Nothing really. The program ran great and I had a lot of fun.
Advice
Always be very open and willing to hear the student's opinion, never diminish kids or make them feel ignorant just because they're young. They can be as smart as you are if you are an adult.

College Teaching Assistant
June - August 2019 • Oakland, CA
What I liked
I was part of the pre college program myself, and loved being part of it on the other end this time; I enjoyed seing students who were completely new to animation take on the challenge and produce amazing work. I also had a great time teaching them extra software, such as Photoshop, Premiere, Storyboard Pro and Animate.
What I wish was different
Most students voiced that they wish they had started on Digital Animation sooner, and so I passed that on to the pre college program manager so that it can be applied next year.
Advice
Go to every student while they work, see what they're doing and if there is anything they could be doing more effectively, help them produce the best work possible, something they can be proud of when applying to college. Go abive and beyond- if you know a software that the class wasn't originally going to teach, offer to teach it during studio hours.

Strategy Letters, Researcher
September 2017 - June 2018 • San Francisco, CA
What I liked
The flexibility to make up my own schedule.
What I wish was different
Coordinated to work together with my fellow researchers for the initiative more often. Working alone is not for everyone!
Advice
Working with the college was great as a foreign student. Aside from having a valuable experience, it helps speed up the process of applying for a Social Security number.
