EPIC offered a really positive environment to work with ambitious students, but not be constantly policing or teaching them. The work was not too draining, though it was rewarding.
What I wish was different
Despite saying I am not a competent Spanish speaker in my interview, I was counseling multiple students who spoke only Spanish, no English. This was frustrating and made it hard to include them with my limited Spanish ability.
Advice
This is a great way to spend time in SLO over the summer! I would recommend applying, especially if you don't manage to line up any internships.
