being a custodian means that you spend a lot of time alone. it's good for introspection. if you can stomach it, it's good honest work.

What I liked
Get to greet people when they come into the Recreation Center and help them with their questions.
What I wish was different
Working the front desk of the Recreation Center means you get a lot of questions so initially this job can be overwhelming in that way. You have to look into things on your own and have to be good with adapting on the spot.
Advice
This job overall is great and would highly recommend it to others. It makes you very adaptable and you learn a lot about ASI and Cal Poly.

What I liked
Loved working in the classroom with the students and getting that hands-on classroom experience
What I wish was different
I wish the pay was a little more because we are constantly working hard and I feel all part-time and even full-time staff deserve a pay raise.
Advice
My advice would be to make sure you go in there with a blank slate and the willingness to listen and learn new communication techniques. It’s really important to learn and practice the specific dialogue required for this job.
