It didn’t feel like work. All 3 meals are provided. Doable with summer classes. Sometimes you only work 3 days a week, but are paid the same. Got to go to splash summit every week.

EFY Counselor
May - August 2018 • Provo, UT
What I liked
Being an EFY Counselor changed my life. I loved the opportunity to work so closely with youth and teach them about choosing joy by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to incorporate my personal beliefs into my relationships with others and learn how to be a better teacher and mentor.
What I wish was different
I only wish I had received more weekly contracts. Since they had hired so many counselors they ended up only needing me for four weeks of the summer. I wish I had received more weeks of work.
Advice
I would recommend this summer job to any member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint who is looking to do some good service and strengthen their commitment to living a Christ-centered life. If you feel inadequate for the position, know that you aren’t alone and that you will receive so much help from others around you.

Youth Counselor
June - July 2018 • Provo, UT
What I liked
I loved working with youth as a counselor. It was super fun and a very different and unique summer job. I met a lot of people and have life long friends from it.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have spaced my working schedule out because you work a week at a time. I worked 5 weeks in a row, I really should have had a week off in the middle of those but it all worked out and I survived the tough work schedule.
Advice
Do it! It was very worth it and rewarding.
