It was a chance to get real world experience and be a part of a team. You definitely learn a lot more working hands on rather than sitting in a class room. Everyone from the bottom up is willing to help if you don't understand something.
What I wish was different
I almost wish I had gotten the internship later in my college career as it is taxing doing both for 4 years. You also may feel like what you are learning in classes do not quite match what you are doing in work and can be a school motivation killer.
Advice
Try and apply. I didn't think I had any chance getting this internship my freshman year but my brother said just do it and an you may get it. If you don't do anything then you won't get anything. Also work as a yes-man you will go further trying to tackle more items then being a one hat kind of worker.
