I’ve learned not only things about myself but I have learned so many qualities that I can carry on past this experience
What I wish was different
I’m not sure if there was anything specific I would want different. I think any internship at least mine I knew what I was going to be doing pretty well and I was ready to dive in.
Advice
Go in with an open heart and a whole lot of patience. My patience was tested a lot especially at the beginning I have never worked with kids who have autism and didn’t think it would be as challenging as it was. Also truly be there for your kiddos that you have. A lot of times you and the other therapist are the people that care the most about their improvements.

I love my job and the people. I've been working with kids my whole life but working with kids that have autism is amazing because they are all so different and they grow every day.

What I liked
I enjoyed my coworkers. Many of them were college students, like me. But others were professionals that have been in the field for a long time and have a lot of experience.
What I wish was different
I wish I had a little bit more training. But it was growing to learn how to figure out some of the things on my own.
Advice
Go into the job without any expectations and be open to having all different types of clients.
