What I liked
Doing this internship allowed me to gain actual on the job experience rather than just learning about what the job would be like from inside a classroom. I got to learn directly from very experienced professionals who have worked in the field for their entire careers and were extremely knowledgeable. I enjoyed doing this internship and it has helped me with thinking about what my plans are for after I graduate. I feel that this internship was a good way to test the waters and see some of what being a zookeeper is like through being able to try some of the work myself and from hearing stories and advice about what the job entails from the keepers I worked with. In this sense, this internship is a good opportunity to find out whether or not you like zookeeping and decide from there if it is a career path you want to continue following.
What I wish was different
There is not much I can think of that I would change about this internship. I feel that I got a lot out of it and was able to learn a lot.
Advice
Put in an honest effort to work hard and efficiently. This is an internship that will require physical labor but if you are committed and motivated then it is very rewarding and can be fun.
