What I liked
Doing this internship allowed me to gain actual on the job experience rather than just learning about what the job would be like from inside a classroom. I got to learn directly from very experienced professionals who have worked in the field for their entire careers and were extremely knowledgeable. I enjoyed doing this internship and it has helped me with thinking about what my plans are for after I graduate. I feel that this internship was a good way to test the waters and see some of what being a zookeeper is like through being able to try some of the work myself and from hearing stories and advice about what the job entails from the keepers I worked with. In this sense, this internship is a good opportunity to find out whether or not you like zookeeping and decide from there if it is a career path you want to continue following.
