What I liked

Buddi is an environment that feels safe and welcoming to be a part of. I have experienced really good interactions with everyone in the company and you can tell everyone cares about each other. It is also a company that allows you to be flexible when and where you want to work.

What I wish was different

Something I wish was different is making it a more competitive environment, with other internships.

Advice

I think that one thing that I want to share about this experience is that It has been a really good place for me to start my career and get my foot in the door.

Campus Ambassador & Buddi for Psych Intern

What I liked

I love working for Buddi because it is so flexible. I can do my work from home on my own time throughout the week. There are weekly meetings which are super useful to help me understand my tasks for the week and to set expectations for the employees. The team is super supportive and understanding.

What I wish was different

I wish the app was released because I am so excited for it to launch! However, the amount of time taken to release the app will be reflected in its high quality performance once released.

Advice

A piece of advice I would say is to allocate your time correctly to make sure you are completing your tasks by the time it is due every week. It is important to allocate time especially with doing school work as well.

Buddi for Psych

What I liked

There is a lot of flexibility working for Buddi since it is a remote job. I really enjoy the weekly meetings that we have as they are very informative and collaborative! Everyone is so kind and eager to learn.

What I wish was different

I wish the app would have launched at its original date so I could have more experience working it, but I totally understand that it is a long and hard process to launch an app.

Advice

If you are looking to gain more experience in the field of psychology, Buddi is a great place to volunteer or intern. I highly recommend working with Buddi!

Buddi For Psych

What I liked

Buddi For Psych is an amazing opportunity that everyone should apply for. It is extremely collaborative and supportive. The company culture is all about mental health and being there for one another. The administration is very clear on what is expected from everyone and they check in on all their employees making you feel appreciated and welcomed into their company. You get to work with other members during the weekly meetings which means that you meet and network with new people all the time. Another bonus is that you gain more insight into different mental health problems because the administration goes over a disorder each meeting making sure that we are all informed and we also do Psychology research on topics we are interested in. This has been by far one of the best jobs I have been part of!

What I wish was different

I honestly would not change a thing. The company is very adaptable to your needs and is understanding about situations you may be going through. They just ask that you communicate with them which is a big plus because you do feel cared for.

Advice

I would recommend for everyone to apply! This has been an incredible experience and it is very manageable even with a busy schedule. You will make so many new connections and learn about topics you are passionate about. I recommend for people to be themselves during the interview. The company just wants to get to know each member and they relate to experiences you go through. Everyone here is passionate about mental health and it is more like a family than a job.

Buddi for Psych

What I liked

Buddi is organized and makes expectations as well as tasks and deadlines very clear. I love that though it has high expectations for all its employers and interns, it is a low stress environment that prioritizes the wellness of its personnel. Since the work is virtual, it makes working on tasks and assignments easier as you can cater to your own schedule and needs.

What I wish was different

I would've liked more information about my day-to-day duties prior to beginning so that I knew exactly what to expect.

Psych Ambassador

What I liked

I enjoy being a part of a community of like-minded individuals who are striving to create a welcoming space for those who struggle with mental health. I believe community and belonging are vital in coping with a mental illness, in addition to education to understand what the disorder is and how it affects people. The directors are efficient communicators who truly make an effort to assist the interns.

What I wish was different

I would not change a thing about the current operations of Buddi. I am excited for the app to launch and be able to put into action the skills that we have been taught/practicing. I believe the software released will be a large stepping stone in the access to affordable mental health care.

Advice

This experience is an amazing first step into the psychology field as most research opportunities and advanced internships desire prior experience. Working with Buddi will supply you with soft skills in handling conflict conversations, a better understanding of disorders and how to spot them, and experience with basic psychology research.

Buddi For Psych

What I liked

There are many different aspects of Buddi that are just great! First off, the community aspect of it is very welcoming. Everyone I have met so far has been helpful and has similar career goals as me. Buddi has also strengthened many of my skills such as communication, team-building, and researching. Overall, Buddi is an excellent place to work for!

What I wish was different

The only thing I could possibly say I would change is when the app is released. I am so excited for it to be available on app stores for general use, and for others to see how helpful Buddi for Psych is.

Advice

A piece of advice I would give is to manage your time efficiently. Although Buddi is very flexible, it is important to put time aside to understand the material given and to strengthen the skills being taught.

What I liked

Fiona was knowledgeable and created a judgement free environment. The slides and information she's shared have been helpful and she's always prepared. I feel like I can trust her if I needed help.

What I wish was different

Although the weekly meetings have been helpful, without the app being launched it's a bit redundant and easy to forget what our actual goals are each week.

Advice

Advice I would give is get to know/build relationships with the other associates. With all of us being Psychology majors, you could make life long friends or connections through this program.
