I loved working with the bSMART founder, Meagan Hooper, as she works to build up bSMART. Meagan is very focused on mentoring her interns and giving them the relevant experience they want. She encourages us to pursue our interests while challenging us to take on new tasks.
What I wish was different
I wish there would have been more structure with long-term projects. While I always knew what was expected of me, I wish there had been more structure to when these projects were wrapped up and how we'd follow up with them in the future.
Advice
It may be cliché, but this internship really is what you make of it. Meagan will encourage you to take on as many projects that interest you/excite you, so take advantage of the opportunities you want. This is a great place to really make a difference in an emerging company, so speak up about what you want!

What I liked
I loved how much flexibility we were allowed. The interns really had a say in not only what they wanted to be doing but what they thought the operation as a whole could be doing better.

I wish I'd had the opportunity to take on more work earlier.
