I like that I have my own set of residents that I have to provide care for and that they have flexible hours.
What I wish was different
I wish that other CNA's would work together when help is needed. Sometimes I feel as though people just want to do their job and that's it. It is hard to get someone to help you.
Advice
If you are interested in health, you should become a CNA. It is a great experience to have when applying to med school and other graduate programs. It introduces you to the field of working in a care setting.

What I liked
The staff are very welcoming and you have the ability to switch to different departments if you are interested. The residents are very kind and they love to talk.
What I wish was different
It can be physically taxing always being on your feet and carrying heavy trays and containers. However, the physical needs vary depending on the shift. It is also something you get used to and do not mind after a while.
Advice
It’s a very rewarding experience. I am a nursing major and it gave me the feel of working with people and caring for other people’s needs. Even if you are not in the health care field I think it is a place where you can learn a lot.
