Brigham Young University - Athletics

Sports Camp Counselor

June - August 2019 • Provo, UT

What I liked

Very good environment to be in and to be able to help teenagers when they were at BYU enjoy the time they had.

What I wish was different

I wish it was more organized. It was very difficult to get in contact with my supervisor and it was even harder to get a response from him.

Advice

Be patient with the children.

What I liked

I like the camaraderie of the office and the access to the sports events that we had. It made it easier to be a part of athletic life on a different scale. I also loved the people I worked with, and the opportunities to make an impact on BYU athletics, even in a small way.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had been able to pick what sport I worked with, but I learned a lot about tennis this way! It turned out to be a great learning experience.

Advice

Make sure you meet your deadlines, and aren't afraid to stay up wait waiting for your team's results!

What I liked

What I wish was different

What is required of the job doesn't always for the pay

Advice

You don't do every job for the money, this one you do for the experience and learning. it's okay to do something the doesn't always make sense financially, but rather for the opportunity it creates.
