Brevium

Software Engineering Intern

May - August 2022 • American Fork, UT

What I liked

Great group of people to work with. Managers actually take out time to get to know you, how you are doing and how you can improve. Feel good about what you do, helping people!

What I wish was different

It was a bit of a dlow start but once things got going, it went well.

Advice

Be prepared to work with C# and SQL often if you are coming as a developer.

Full-Stack Software Engineer

April - August 2019 • American Fork, UT

What I liked

Well-jelled team with good agile processes. Because of their carefully-cultivated culture of candor, there was no political drama, and misunderstandings or miscommunications that arose were resolved quickly. They assigned me a project that gave me a lot of autonomy and worked with me to make sure it was executed well.

What I wish was different

I wish I had been able to collaborate more at a code level rather than simply at a conceptual one.

Advice

If you have concerns about your work or your internship experience as a whole, voice them as quickly as possible. The team is great at adjusting things for a better experience, but obviously they can't fix problems that you haven't specifically identified and brought up. Give them the opportunity to adjust things if necessary.
