Brayman Construction Corporation

Accounting Intern

May - August 2017 • Saxonburg, PA

What I liked

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship for many reasons. One major reason why I loved my internship, was because it was very hands on. Not only did I get to take on a lot as an intern, but I was able to experience and do a lot in multiple areas of the business. I rotated through the cost accounting, financial reporting, payroll, and human resources. On top of what I was able to physically do, I loved the culture of the organization. The organization was very friendly and I felt like I was apart of one big family. The organization was held together by tradition and determination for success.

What I wish was different

One thing that I wish would have been different was the ability for me to work with the company on more than I was able too. I truly wish I had more time with them. Since I had a summer internship, I was limited by the fact I had to go back to college. I wouldn’t ask to change anything as the internship was very hands on and informative. I would recommend that Brayman continue to give responsibility and projects to the interns. Allow them to do as much as they possibly can.

Advice

One piece of advice for future interns is to show who you are, especially in your interview. Show them you have personality and the ability to take on responsibility. I feel I was able to connect with my coworkers and take on many projects because of that. Be a go-getter and you won’t regret it.
