What I liked

I absolutely loved this job! We had customers from literally all over the world and it was fun to hear where they were from and why they chose to visit us. Many of them had long term family connections with the lake and surrounding area and some decided to stop by while they were passing through to other National Parks. It was also so refreshing to spend so much time out in the mountains, away from the busy world. At times it almost seemed cleansing to be away from it all. The owners were awesome. They were good communicators so we always knew what was expected of us and we were always treated very well. With this job you really do live among your employees which can be hard at times but it's also super great because you become pretty good friends. Some of my favorite memories were with other employees either sitting around the fire after work, playing card games, or exploring the mountains around us.

What I wish was different

I don't think this will change, but the closest grocery store was 30-45 minutes away. Which was fine, it just took some getting use to.

Advice

Pack light, you don't have a whole ton of room but it's ok because you'll always be kinda dirty when you live in the mountains. Be prepared to work hard, there is always stuff to do. Have fun!

What I liked

Meeting so many new people from different places and backgrounds! Also free housing!

What I wish was different

Higher pay! You work hard and long hours and only get paid 8$ per hour. I loved my experience but defiantly make more money at jobs in my hometown!

Advice

If your looking to live in the mountains for the summer and meet lots of new people this is the place for you!
