Boston Celtics

Basketball Camp Counselour

July 2019 • Quincy, MA

What I liked

I loved how organized the camp was operated. Everyone that worked the camp had plenty of past experience and knew exactly what they were doing. I loved how engaged and passionate the kids were at the camp.

What I wish was different

I honestly don't wish anything was different. Everything was better than I expected it to be.

Advice

I would say to make sure you are well rested when dealing with the youth because the days do feel longer and it will wear you out.

Media Relations Intern

June - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

Everyone at the Boston Celtics was very nice and helpful to the interns. I liked being able to work with many people in the office throughout the internship, so I felt like I was able to greatly improve my people skills, something I have struggled with a lot in the past. In addition, working in the PR department I was able spend a lot of time working both in the office and outside the office.

Ticket Sales Intern

May - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

I loved the vibe of the office. It was very relaxed, but at the same time maintaining a fully professional level. I also got to attend games and working in that atmosphere is very exciting.

What I wish was different

The main change I would suggest is putting the interns all in one place. I know it is easier for the departments to have them close, but that wasn't true for all areas. I think this would foster even more relationships within the company and interns because the interns would be seeing the faces of many departments rather than their own.

Advice

My piece of advice is to make the most out of it. I didn't get the position i applied for, but I was offered a great opportunity and i took it without blinking. The experience I received is invaluable.
