I loved working with the kids. You get to work with the same child for a semester of 13-15 weeks (or more if you re-sign the contract) so you really get to know them. I enjoyed watching their spoken and written English improve throughout our time together.
What I wish was different
The workload can be tough if you're looking to continue this job into the school year, and lesson times are very early because of the time difference between China and the US.
Advice
Bring a lot of energy to each lesson to keep students engaged and make sure to tailor lessons for each child as an individual. For example, if a child really enjoys art, find a way to incorporate art into the lesson or essay prompts.
