What I liked
I loved working with students and gaining valuable work experience before I enter my block and student teaching. I was able to see how teachers work, and how the TRIO organization functioned as a whole.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had more energy to be more proactive and take advantage of all the opportunities available for me. There was a lot to learn before the job and a lot of thinking on my feet.
Advice
Go out and gain experience teaching! I think that's one thing that the education degree lacks- we don't have very much teaching experience before we go out into our first jobs. The sooner an educator gets into a classroom, whether it's observing or teaching one lesson, the better.
