I loved being able to communicate with incoming students, build relationships with them, help with any struggles they came across as the summer progresses and into the school year. It also helped me make connections with different colleges here on campus.

I wish it was in person instead of virtual, but COVID happened and we had to adjust

Lean into the discomfort and try new things. go out and be your most genuine self!

What I liked
I really enjoyed getting to help all of the incoming freshman and transfer students. It is an amazing opportunity to help these people start their journey at Boise State. Helping in this ways truly feels like you are making an impact on the bronco community!
What I wish was different
I wish we could have had more in person activities, but we could not due to covid.
Advice
I would advice others to trust the process of learning how to lead students in orientation. At first it seems overwhelming, but the training provides all the resources you need to succeed.

What I liked
Being able to meet new students and their families and talking about how amazing this campus is. It was a great experience to learn about customer service, the university, and developing leadership skills.

Advice
Always think of the WHY to remind you how much you are excited to help the students and families. It is important to be aware that someone is always watching you.
