Front Office Assistant

October 2019 - January 2020 • Boise, ID

What I liked

Everyone in the office is super friendly and willing to assist any questions you have. There's a bunch of resources. The workflow is pretty easy to learn. The work was .very easygoing, however, constant change in processes does require you to keep track of correct ways to do things. There's constant room to always be learning how to do new things and chances for promotions. Clean, efficient office space and a break room with a full fridge you can store stuff in. Scheduling is pretty simple, but with any job make sure you don't slack. There is some time to work on homework, but sometimes it can feel like you're the only one doing all the work.

What I wish was different

Parking is not available, make sure to arrive early if you need time to find a spot. Otherwise, just have to move the car during shift.

Advice

Make sure to be very communicative and don't be afraid to voice your concerns. Make sure that you're pulling your weight and that others are held accountable for it as well.

Student Janitor

May - August 2018 • Boise, ID

What I liked

I was able to get the main portion of my work done, work on any cleaning projects I found in my assigned areas, and I interacted with the employees who worked in my buildings.

What I wish was different

I would never be assigned to killing wasps or knocking down their hives ever again.

Advice

It isn't hard work, but you have to care about the place being clean. Don't just wipe counters to pass time. You can really transform a place if you put the effort in.
