I loved to meet all the wonderful patients and connect with each of them. The COVID patients are so scared during their stay at the hospital and I love to give them the chance to freshen up. Sometimes all they need is someone to talk to and I love to be that person to lift their spirits.
What I wish was different
I wish COVID didn’t take such a toll on everyone because some of the elderly patients I had were very sick and it was heartbreaking. It was hard to see so many of them struggling to breathe and doing it alone. Even if they couldn’t find enough air to speak, I was there holding their hand and telling them it was gonna be okay.
