What I liked
Some co-workers were great to work with. The schedule is very flexible for a student. Knowledge that I would be able to return at any time after eventually leaving.
What I wish was different
Better management. Some co-workers were not very good and we're not appropriately disciplined for inappropriate actions they caused. Pay could have been better. Clientele was not the best to work with.
Advice
Would recommend to serve at a better establishment if possible.

I could work as much as I wanted to. Hours came pretty easy and once I figured out the job it got easier with time.
What I wish was different
I didn’t get as much training as I would have liked. That being said they did prepare me for a lot just not everything I needed to know.
Advice
Go into work with a good mentality and you’ll be fine. The harder you think the job is the less you’ll enjoy it.

The staff was very friendly and the job overall was pretty easy!
What I wish was different
I wish the managers had taken my availability into account more often. I asked to work fewer hours a week but still ended up working about 20 hours a week along with going to school full time.
Advice
I started out as a host and then worked my way up to serving. Having the host experience allowed me to learn about the environment and the menu before becoming a server. Plus it allowed me to pick up more hours later on.

I liked the interactions with customers and the laid back environment with my coworkers.
What I wish was different
I wish the restaurant had air conditioning. I was broken for the whole summer and I sweat so much.
Advice
That sometimes talking to people is really fun and sometimes people are very rude.
