BlueCart, Inc.

Graphic Design Intern

July 2019 • Washington, DC

What I liked

I love the culture and the people here. The hours are flexible. Co-workers are very friendly, kind, and caring. I also appreciate that my hard work and contribution are always recognized. The managers always give everything to help us interns grow and care about our personal as well as professional development. There are bonding time such as Potlucks, Movie Nights,... another thing I love about this place is our office often has free coffee, tea, snacks, and donuts.

What I wish was different

They expect a lot from their interns (hard work and quality work) as they're intern-to-hire. If you don't meet their expectations, they can terminate you before your internship ends. Also, they don't pay for overtime.

Advice

If I was to advice someone who was going to apply for an internship at BlueCart, I'd say please treat this internship like your actual job. Be professional. Be productive. Make sure to connect with your co-workers and talk about your professional development as well as your vision to your manager often. Show them that you care about your job and have what takes to be hired permanently.
