My internship at Blue Sky and Entertainment was very useful, as I am in interested in event planning and law, and this internship exposed me to both of these careers. I loved learning how events and contracts are created. I also was exposed to sports marketing and worked on creating promotional content that was used to market Blue Sky clients for various opportunities. I really enjoyed working with Kim Zayotti, as she is a lawyer and she gave me insight on how a law degree can be applied to a career outside a courtroom. The staff at Blue Sky are so welcoming. The friendly office atmosphere made me happy to go to work everyday. I really liked that they took into account my career interests and gave me tasks that exposed me to the legal side of sports marketing. If you are hoping to go into a career related to the sports marketing industry, I highly recommend this internship. You will learn so much about the behind the scenes of how business deals are negotiated and settled upon.
What I wish was different
I wish I had more in person event experiences rather then mostly all computer work. However, my internship was in the winter and I do understand depending on what time of year you complete the internship, there are more hands on event opportunities.
Advice
Be honest with your supervisor with what you specifically want to get out of the internship. The staff at Blue Sky really want to help you grow as a leader and as a working professional and by informing them of what you would like to learn, they will be able to expose you to tasks that align with interests. Additionally, never be afraid to ask questions, everyone at Blue Sky are super friendly and willing to answer any questions you have about what your working on, questions related to the sports marketing/ entertainment industry, and beyond.

What I liked
My time at Blue Sky was very exciting for me as it was my first time getting the opportunity to look more into the Sports Marketing and Entertainment industry. I liked that I had the opportunity to be apart of the Strikes for Tykes event and get a look inside of the event industry as well. The interns are assigned different work to do that allows them to be apart of the process of marketing different athletes. Everyone there was extremely welcoming and provided a positive and exciting environment to work in.
What I wish was different
I wish that the interns had the opportunity to do different tasks at times. I had a specific role that I would do and the other intern had a specific role she would do. I wish we had the opportunity to learn what the other person was doing instead of only being delegated a specific role for the duration of my time there.
Advice
One piece of advice that I would share about this experience is to advocate for yourself. If there is something that you want to learn or work on a specific project, it is important to ask. Everyone at Blue Sky wants to see you learn and grow, they will do everything they can to make sure that happens.

What I liked
While at Blue Sky I liked the sense of progression that I felt while working there with the full time employees. Blue Sky gives you projects and responsibilities that will be beneficial to your professional development. In addition, the atmosphere was great and dynamic created between the full time employees makes you feel welcome while at your time there. They clearly care about their interns learning from them as a company and encourage questions, while also giving you responsibilities of your own.

Advice
This experience was extremely beneficial to my professional development and taught me a lot of valuable skills that will apply to my future career. I would say, if you are to take/receive an internship position at this company, take it and then take advantage of the resources they give you and don't be afraid to take on challenges here.
