It was a an honor to hear Mr. O'Malley's input on the market each time I attended a meeting. I was constantly challenged during this internship.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had asked Niall more questions!
Advice
Read every document he provides you twice. Do not hesitate to ask questions. The efforts that you put into this internship will be returned to you tenfold in the form of knowledge of equity research and under writing abilities.

Equity Research Intern
August - December 2018 • Towson, MD
What I liked
I loved everything about the internship. Equity Research is exactly what I would like to pursue after college and my internship only helped reinforce that. Mr. O'Malley has a wealth of knowledge from years in finance which gave me an invaluable experience over the fall semester as someone just starting out. I honestly could not have been more fortunate to have worked for Blue Point Investment Management during my fall internship.
What I wish was different
Honestly, nothing. The hours were great, we were able to work at own pace, and we had weekly discussions about what was happening in the markets. Blue Point Investment Management is right up the street from Towson University and we were even compensated for parking and a CFA Membership. The internship is unpaid, but the information and training more than make up for that when it goes on a resume.
Advice
It's a lot of work. College classes usually take up most my free time so I had to exert some serious time management. Personally, I enjoy researching companies and learning about the stock market, so I didn't mind extra workload. Most internships more than likely have most college students stretched fairly thin time wise though.
