I like how diverse this internship is. The day to day life looks different each day and I got to work several scheduled events with vendors to help promote health and wellness. The health promotion and wellness team is amazing and I learned so much through everyone and got a really unique look at how complex public health is.
What I wish was different
I wish the hours were different. This is a full time internship and I struggled keeping my grades up and being successful at the internship.
Advice
Keep an open mind when you see an add for a health insurance agency internship position! It's not taking calls and dealing with angry customers; it's working with the health promotion team to work with the community to create a healthier environment for everyone!

What I liked
The people I worked with were amazing and I never felt like I was "just another intern". I learned so much about the depts of marketing in a highly regulated field as health insurance and it was eye-opening to see the different elements within that sector. My manager and her team always made it a point to guide me and make me feel like I was a valuable asset to the company.
What I wish was different
I wish I had the opportunity to interact more with senior leadership. As college students, we often are intimidated by them and if I had the opportunity to sit down with them and speak with them on their careers and had the chance to get to know how they built themselves, it would have been an amazing experience.
