I enjoyed that I set my own guidelines to do my own research with the financial support of the URSCA grant.

What I wish was different

I wish I was able to continue my employment while I continued my research in Fall 2019.

I would advise others to make any professional experience a top priority because it is what will make any individual stand out among other candidates for any position.

What I liked

I really enjoyed getting hands-on experience in the field I wish to pursue a career in. I learned the day-to-day tasks and expectations of ecological research.

Nothing! I really loved it.

Advice

Make sure you are making the most out of each day. It goes a lot faster than you would ever believe, and no matter how stressful, you will miss it!

The flexibility and the opportunities. I did my research on the comic book community and I am really passionate on continuing my research.

What I wish was different

I wish the IRB would have approved my research proposal faster

Get your IRB application done ahead of time and make sure it includes everything you want to do so that you don't need to make amendments

Doing research without interruption with classes.

What I wish was different

Been more organized to start and having everything lined up to do over the time period.

Advice

It was amazing to have the opportunity to be able to do such a criticial part of experience needed for graduate school and for the working world. It was a dream come true to be able to work in my own field, without first graduating.
