Associate

June - August 2019 • Elgin, IL

What I liked

The employees are really nice to work with, my boss is really understanding and I like helping people.

What I wish was different

Not much! Um, I walk around a lot and got more comfortable shoes but sometimes my feet still got sore so maybe just more opportunities to sit down.

Advice

Some people go to retail stores with mayhem in mind and you just have to realize that they are trying to act out and affect you. You just have to let that stuff slide and focus on doing your job and be helpful.

Cashier

June - August 2018 • Madison, WI

What I liked

The employees/managers were very friendly and informative. They were more than willing to teach me the right way to accomplish tasks and rectify any mistakes I made. Customers were generally friendly, especially after 'rush hour'.

What I wish was different

The break times were, in my opinion, fair. However, it is also true that you may not always get a break if the store is really busy and/or you are stationed on one of the 'main' registers during your shift.

Advice

Like any job where you have to serve people, you should always put forth your best efforts to work with the customer and serve them according to their best interests. Moreover, your experience may vary greatly depending on your overall mood and how cooperative you are with the customers you serve.
