What I liked

While working at Black Diamond Camp, I loved that I was able to try so many different things. As a counselor, I was able to work with kids from elementary age, to middle school and high school. On top of that, I was able to run activities, help in the kitchen, and other departments around Camp. It made the job exciting and I gained a wider variety of skills.

What I wish was different

Advice

If I had to give one piece of advice, it would be to try everything! Going into it, I was scared of working on the high ropes activities. I had never tried anything like it and I didn't think I would be good at it. But after going through training, it became one of my favorite things. If I wouldn't have tried it, I wouldn't have had such a positive experience that summer.

What I liked

I like the family orenented environment and the camp as a whole. I enjoyed all the chances to learn new skills and all the chances I had to teach others.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more time to spend at Black Diamond! I wish I could have taken a internship and stayed a whole semester.

Sports and Individual Camp Counselor

What I liked

Having the opportunity to work at Black Diamond was one like no other. Set in the beautiful Washington wilderness, this camp position gave me many opportunities to exercise and fine-tune skills. I made amazing connections with both the full-time and summer staff that pushed me to excel and dive deeply into my faith. Each day was filled with hard work, laughter, and many memories I will carry with me forever.
