I loved collaborating with scientists from a wide variety of fields and experiences to enhance our own projects. Working one-on-one with my mentor allowed me to gain a greater understanding of the field of XFEL research and its importance.

Advice
I would recommend taking advantage of all the opportunities available, mandatory and non-mandatory. You never know where one connection with a peer may take you and a single presentation can change your career trajectory!
