June - August 2022 • Vestal, NY
What I liked
I liked that I had some freedom in the research I was able to do, and that I was able to complete a research project during the summer.
What I wish was different
I wish my assigned professor had been more involved in my experience.
Advice
If you're going to do research at another institution, research the area around the institution so that you'll have some ideas on how you can spend your evenings and weekends.

What I liked
I like that I received hands on experience in a field that I was interested in. I love the opportunities to explore the city and meet new people outside of research.
What I wish was different
I wish we had have gotten paid sooner, that was a bit of a hassle. I also wish I would have gotten to see other people's research in action.
Advice

What I liked
The people I worked with made the experience one that will stick with me. They taught me many lessons on top of what I was doing on the job and made the experience enjoyable. Being given responsibilities and jobs that other people at my level were not given was also an enjoyable bonus to have.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had been given more training in more areas of the job so that I could have been given a bigger variety of jobs throughout the summer.
Advice
Getting along with the people you work with is going to be one of the most important. They have the ability to make the experience more enjoyable and can help you learn more about how to do certain jobs within the job.
