It was an incredible experienced, especially in the midst of a pandemic, to be able to live out in the beauty of northwestern Montana and create unforgettable experiences. One of the best parts of my experience as a counselor was getting to know the staff and being mentored by God-fearing leaders. I was pushed out of my comfort zone daily and grew as a person in so many different ways, and I was supported by those around me throughout the experience.
What I wish was different
I honestly don't know if I would change anything about the experience. Of course there were hard days, sickness, exhaustion, etc., but it was all part of the experienced, and I grew through all of it.
Advice
I would encourage everyone to spend a summer away from home. I gained a lot of independence that I wouldn't have gotten elsewhere. Take a leap of faith and do something you've never done before! (Like moving across the country to a state you never been to before and work in a job you have no experience in!)
