The environment. Everyone was really nice and willing to explain stuff to me, as long as they weren't super busy.

Automation/Industrial Engineering Intern
July - December 2017 • Milford, CT
What I liked
This internship was very CAD heavy (working with Creo Parametric) so it served to greatly enhance my knowledge of the program, as well as concepts related to general component design. I also got to work with other machinists and workers on the floor to get their input on some of the designs to make their day -to-day jobs easier.
What I wish was different
I would have liked to have had more opportunities to gain experience in different areas of the facility, but we had a very limited number of people working on the project, so I needed to stick with that.
Advice
Take the time to talk to other people working at the facility. You may not interact with them often, but they know the issues and strengths of the facility best considering they experience it firsthand.
