BHDP Architecture

About BHDP Architecture

BHDP began in 1937 when Cyrus Baxter formed his own architectural firm in Cincinnati, OH to primarily handle design work for his former employer, Cincinnati Milacron, who at the time was the world’s largest manufacturer of machine tools. Over the next seven years, a talented trio of architects, Jack Hodell, Jim Donnelly, and Jim Preston, joined Baxter; and in 1960 they formed Baxter Hodell Donnelly and Preston, Inc.
Over time, the founders shortened the name to BHDP and expanded the firm’s expertise from industrial and workplace projects for many of the region’s leading companies to include other noteworthy projects in the higher education, retail and science markets.

Today, BHDP has over 160 employees (including 54 Registered Architects) in five offices – Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC, and Pittsburgh, PA – and serves an enviable roster of well-known clients that have allowed us to deliver innovative and inspiring design solutions on hundreds of projects located in 50 states, 5 Canadian provinces and over 20 countries around the world.

Marketing Co-op

January 2019 - May 2019 Cincinnati, OH
“This was an amazing internship where I had learned a lot and partook in several projects. If you're interested in gaining real-world experience, working with different departments collaboratively as well as being a part of your own department's team, and continuously learning more skills I highly recommend this internship. ”

Experience Design Co-Op

June 2018 - August 2018 Cincinnati, OH
“The experience design team was great and super fun to work with. I loved my supervisors. Because the team was so busy, I was allowed to take charge of a lot of work on my own. I got to design most of an exhibit space and had a lot of fun with that.”
