I am getting tons of hands on experience and the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of working in an Emergency Department before graduating in December.
What I wish was different
The orientation process was very long, but I did learn a lot and understand why it is necessary.
Advice
I would absolutely encourage all nursing students to try to get a job as a nursing assistant. The experience is invaluable.

What I liked
being able to interact with patients and become familiar with the work flow of the hospital environment in order to know whether this is the path I want to take in the future
What I wish was different
I wish that the hours were less strenuous (most are evening shifts), especially because the hours conflict with a student's sleeping schedule despite being convenient for class schedules.
Advice
I would recommend any student to apply to Proscribe because the experience of seeing first-hand how the Emergency Dept works can be life-changing, and was so for me.
