What I liked

Had my first consulting internship with Ben, and I learned a lot from this experience. Given that Ben oversees most projects, there were a lot of 1-on-1 interactions and I really appreciated the mentorship. There were a lot of hands-on project experiences, so there was a lot of learning on the job.

What I wish was different

It was a great experience overall.

Advice

There will be a steep learning curve so work smart and don't be afraid to ask questions!

What I liked

I really enjoyed the experience! Benjamin is very supportive. He really values employees' personal growth and I was able to learn a lot. The culture is also a plus - everyone is communicative, and Benjamin makes sure everyone feels included and valued.

What I wish was different

What I liked

Steep learning curve: CEO and mentors provide great support and guidance but also leave room for interns to take ownership of the work. Learned a lot of the consulting industry, technical skills (excel, decking, etc), and also inter-personal communication

Management Consulting Intern

July - December 2020 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

Working with Ben has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had! I was able to take ownership of parts of the project and look at the project from a holistic point of view, which is extremely valuable. Ben also values feedback so the extensive feedback that I got really helped me to improve during the internship and beyond!

What I wish was different

I wish there were some in-person aspects but being in-person was not feasible due to covid-19.

Advice

Communication is the key! This can include being transparent about your work style, what interests you and what your strengths and weaknesses are.

Management Consulting Intern

February 2020 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

The educational aspect of the internship. Ben is genuinely interested in helping the interns succeed and I was able to get extensive feedback during project debriefs, peer feedback, etc. They not only help me with improving my skillsets and knowledge about consulting but most importantly, they help me see the big picture of the project and how my roles fit within, which are extremely helpful when I was interviewing for a full-time job.

What I wish was different

Sometimes it's hard to balance between my other responsibilities and this internship, as it is really project-based. However, Ben is really understanding and is willing to work with me on scheduling.

Advice

I would say it's totally worth it. You really learn a lot from each project and take ownership of your work.

What I liked

I enjoyed how I was given the opportunity to contribute to the project from the beginning to the end (from customer interviews to finalizing the project). The hands-on process really helped me to learn and practice my skills. Benjamin is also very genuine and gives a lot of good feedback throughout.

What I wish was different

It was an overall great experience!

Advice
